Rest

This world offers anxiety, fear, and stress but through Christ we can have peace, joy and rest. Our life will not be perfect but when tough times do come we will not be shaken. Paul, an early church leader, was imprisoned and taken aboard ship to go through a trial in Rome. God promised Paul that he would make it to Rome safely. The ship started sinking and the crew had great anxiety. But Paul had no fear. He told the men to not be afraid, they would all make it safely to land. Paul even shared a meal with the men as the ship was sinking (Acts 27)! When your trust is in The Rock, nothing will be able to shake you. Put your trust in God's promises and He will give you rest even in the midst of trials.

Where Does Your Help Come From?

Where does your help come from? Some look to political figures, come look to celebrities, some look to science, some look to medicine. I look to the one who created the heaven and the earth. The one who is sitting on the throne. The only one that can save me from my sins. Only God can give you peace, only God can give you wisdom and only God can give you help in trying times.

Wise as Serpents, Harmless as Doves

Jesus said, "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves; be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves" (Matt. 10:16). This world is full hate, anger and evil. Despite what is going on around us we need to wise as a serpent, discerning between good and evil and taking a stand for what is right. But we also need to be as harmless as a dove, showing compassion to others and acting out of love. In a world full of wolves we need to be wise as as serpents and as harmless as a doves.
